Supporting the mental health of children in Sheffield and the surrounding area.
What is
counselling?
This can sound like a scary word, especially to children, but to put it simply, I provide a safe space for children to talk about their thoughts, anxieties and worries without any fear of reprisals.
I then help them with coping mechanisms that not only help provide relief in the short term, but to teach them the tools and techniques to provide long lasting support.
Sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis in Sheffield.

About Me
I am a friendly, caring and honest person with a passion for supporting children through their difficulties. Initially training as a social worker I worked with some of the most difficult cases with a local authority.

Working with a local charity led me to continue my studies to gain training in therapeutic counselling and I have also recently completed my Masters Degree in Psychology.

I have years of hands of experience of supporting children on their emotional journey and helping them reach their potential, teaching them coping mechanisms to deal with their difficulties long after our sessions have concluded.

How does counselling Work?
Counselling works by providing a compassionate and confidential space where you can talk about your concerns, feelings, and challenges. It’s like having a supportive friend who listens without judgment and helps you find your way through difficult times.

In counselling, we’ll work together to explore your thoughts and emotions, identify patterns or obstacles that may be holding you back, and develop practical strategies to help you cope and thrive. It’s all about empowering you to make positive changes in your life and feel more confident and capable along the way.

Asked
Questions
Who do you work with?
I work with children within the age range of 7-18 years old supporting a range of issues from bullying and self harming to anxieties and panic attacks. I undergo continual personal development to ensure I have up to date skills and knowledge to best support your child.
What to expect within a session?
I believe it’s important to work in an integrative way and find the right approach for each client, so we will discuss your child's particular needs and expectations at the beginning of therapy and make a plan for treatment tailored to them, usually with an initially block of six sessions.
Can I be with my child in a session?
I provide a safe and calming space for the child to open up about their worries and anxieties and this works best without a parent in the sessions.
How do I book and what is the cost?
I will discuss ongoing prices and my availability during the initial assessment meeting. This initial meeting costs just £20 and I will have a discussion with both yourself and your child to check if they're ready for counselling and the best way to support their individual needs.
